2008
Tomorrow is the first day in 2009, and I have many thing did not do in 2008. It is very quickly, I have become a college student for 4 months, and the my first semester will be end. English writing is very hard in my first class, but it is change now. I think this is interesting, I feel my English will be better than few months ago, though my English still very poor. Having a English blog is very good for a student. It can let us practice writing. I think I will write down more and more English essay in this blog. Good bye 2008.
Carsten Charles Sabathia
On December 18, 2008, Sabathia signed a seven-year, $161 million contract with the New York Yankees. It was the largest contract in MLB history given out to a pitcher.
C.C Sabathia is one of the best left-handed starting pitcher in MLB. He have 17 wins, 10 loses, 251 strike outs, 253 IP, and a good ERA 2.70 this season. This is one of the reasons why he can get a very good contract in this year. An other reason is that New York Yankees' starting pitcher is not very good this year, and Yankees' very want a good left-handed pitcher. Last year, Yankees have a very good chance to get the best left-handed starting pitcher - John Santana, but Yankees did not want to lose many new player. In fact, Yankees' new player like Hughes, and Kennedy let many fans' heart broken, so Yankees did not want to fail again. They give a largest contract for pitcher to Sabathia. Next year, Yankees maybe will be the best team in MLB.
Hiroki Kuroda
Hiroki Kuroda is a professional baseball player from Osaka, Japan. He is a starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He have 9 wins, 10 loses , 116 strikes, 183.1 IP, and his ERA is 3.73 this year.
In his first start for the Dodgers, Kuroda pitched seven innings against the San Diego Padres, holding them to 1 run and getting the first win of his American baseball career. Kuroda went 3-6 with an ERA of 4.04 before going on the DL with mild tendinitis.
Upon his return, he pitched seven shutout innings against the Houston Astros. However, his next start was even more impressive. On July 7, 2008, Kuroda pitched seven perfect innings in a game against the Atlanta Braves before allowing a double to Mark Teixeira to lead off the eighth inning. Despite the double, he shutout the Braves on one hit with no walks over nine innings, Teixeira was the only baserunner Kuroda would allow in a 91-pitch complete game one-hit shutout. He became the first Dodger to throw a one-hitter since Derek Lowe threw one against the Chicago Cubs on August 31, 2005. He became the first rookie pitcher since Orel Hershiser in 1984 to take a perfect game into the eighth inning.
On September 15, 2008, Kuroda was deprived of the opportunity to become the first Dodgers pitcher since Hideo Nomo to throw 3 complete game shutouts in a single season. After pitching 7 innings in which he allowed only 3 hits and no walks, Kuroda was taken out of the game, with an 8-0 lead, so that the Dodgers could give Brad Penny and Takashi Saito some live practice. The Dodgers would go on to win that game 8-2.
On October 4, 2008, Kuroda made his first postseason appearance in the major leagues as the starting pitcher for Game 3 of the Dodgers' first playoff series against the Chicago Cubs, in which the Dodgers led two games to none. He gave a remarkable 6 1/3 shutout inning performance, winning the game and helping the Dodgers complete the sweep of the Cubs to advance to the next round National League Championship Series. On October 12, 2008, Kuroda started Game 3 against the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2008 NLCS with the Dodgers down two games to none. He pitched effectively again, giving up two runs in six innings, and went on to notch his second postseason victory.

A left-handed pitcher - Kei Igawa
Kei Igawa is a Japanese left-handed starting pitcher for the New York Yankees. He played for the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball from 1999 to 2006. He led the Central League in strikeouts in 2002, 2004, and 2006. He played in the 2006 Major League Baseball Japan All-Star Series.
When he play ball in Japan, he is a very good pitcher in Japan. After he go to New York, he can not throw the ball as good as he in Japan. Maybe the batters in MLB is better then them in Japan. I think is not ture, because Matsuzaka still does well in MLB. In fact, since Igawa went to New York, his ability for contorling ball is very bad. His fast-ball can not get a strike ball, and his ball is not heavy. Because this reason, he always lost many point in the game that he is the starting pitcher. I think he still a good pitcher, but New York's mass media give him a very big persure. If he can change team to play ball, I guess he will change.

Dave Batista
Batista is a 4-time World Heavyweight Champion, 3-time World Tag Team Champion, 1-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and the winner of the 2005 Royal Rumble match.
Dave Batista has been “The Animal” since childhood, in temper if not in name. He is a very good player in WWE. He have many enemies like HHH, Cena, Henry, JBL, Kane, and The Undertaker. Though he have many enemies, he still defeat them with his finish skill "Batista Bomb". I alway remember a game that he play with The Undertaker. That game is very exciting, because The Undertaker use "Tumb Bomb" on Batista, and Batista did not lose. Then, Batista use his finish skill "Batista Bomb" on The Undertaker, but he didn't defeat him. When Batista want to use Batista Bomb again, Undertaker use his finish skill "Tumb Stone" on Batista., and Undertaker win the game. Though Batista can not win that game, I still very like him. He is the best in my eyes.

Today
I am very boring now. Who can talk with me. Today is Mark's birthday. We have a good time today.
AMD's 'Shanghai' CPU Enters Production
The last year has not been kind to AMD. Its 65nm Barcelona processors arrived several months late, and were already obsolete in many ways when compared to the Intel offerings at the time. To make matters worse, the Barcelona chips were also buggy, making the tardy offering even less desirable to consumers and PC manufacturers. All of this built up to AMD’s $1.2 Billion loss in Q2 of 2008, the same quarter Intel saw record-breaking gains.
Now, in an effort to right itself in the CPU market, AMD has begun manufacturing its next generation of processors. Shanghai, a 45nm quad core processor, will be available by the end of 2008, beating original expectations. As per its usual strategy, Shanghai will be available in server processors first, followed shortly by desktop varieties.
In order to gain ground on Intel in performance, these new Shanghai based chips will have three times more cache (6MB total) than previous processors, as well as the third iteration of HyperTransport. AMD claims these additions will boost performance by as much as 20 percent while lowering power consumption. Following the release of the Shanghai processors, the 45nm Deneb desktops processors will hit store shelves in early 2009, followed by Istanbul server processors (six-cores) later in the year.
This could be the boost AMD needs to stay competitive with the house that Moore built, but how will these new offerings compare to the six-core Xeon processors already shipping from Intel as well as the Core i7 chips expected later this year? Only time will tell.

IBM Roadrunner Beats Cray's Jaguar
The Los Alamos system, nicknamed Roadrunner, has hung onto its title as the world’s fastest supercomputer, a position that it first claimed back in June 2008. Since June, the supercomputer had received only slight upgrades, yet it was still able to edge out its competition this November with a speed of 1.105 petaflops/s under the Linpack benchmark application. Second place in the Top500 list went to Jaguar, the Cray XT5 supercomputer located at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which achieved a speed of 1.059 petaflop/s. Both systems are operated by the U.S. Department of Energy, with seven of the top ten fastest supercomputers being located at U.S. Department of Energy facilities.
Third place in the Top500 list went to a system called Pleiades, a SGI Altix ICE system installed at NASA Ames in California, which reached a speed of 487 teraflop/s. The IBM BlueGene/L system, installed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, scored 478.2 teraflop/s for fourth place. Supercomputers today are roughly 1,000 times more powerful than they were ten years ago, with Roadrunner being the first system ever to break the petaflop/s barrier. To put petaflop speeds into perspective, a single petaflop/s is roughly the equivalent of combining together the computing power of 100,000 of the fastest notebooks on earth.
The Roadrunner was also the world’s first supercomputer to use a hybrid design, currently combining 12,960 IBM PowerXCell 8i CPUs and 6,912 AMD Opteron dual-core processors. The operating systems used by Roadrunner are said to be Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora, with the entire system draining about 2.35-megawatt of power. Roadrunner was primarily designed to ensure the safety and reliability of nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile by simulating how nuclear materials age. Other uses of Roadrunner include research into astronomy, energy, human genome science and climate change

A-Rod
Alex Rodriguez is one of the best third basemans, and he is the batter who can let pitcher to be afraid. In 2007, he sign a 10 years contract with yankees, he can make less 27.5 milion dolars each year. He have the highest salary in MLB.
Rodriguez begun his career in Seattle Mariners in 1994, at first, he is a shortstop. When he first time play baseball in MLB, he only 18 years old. In 1996, he hit 36 homeruns , 215 hits, and 123RBI. 1996 is the third year that he paly ball in MLB, he is a very good player in MLB. 2000 is the last year in Seattle Mariners. In 2001 he sign a 10 years contact with Texas Rangers which all money he can make is 25.2 milion dollars. That is the biggest contract at that time. But he only play ball in Texas Rangers for 3 years. In 2004, Yankees use Alfonso Soriano and a 3A player to change him. On August forth 2007, he hit the 500th homerun. I believe that he will hit more than 800 homeruns in his player life. He is the best player in MLB

Intel 32nm CPU
Representatives from Intel will present a paper to discuss how they produced a 291Mb SRAM memory array to test the process – a process which uses high-k and metal gate technologies. Using a 0.171-micron^2 cell size, the device has close to 2 billion transistors and array density of 4.2-Mbit^2 – it operated at 3.8GHz at 1.1 Volts.
Static RAM cells are what chip makers always build first when testing a new fabrication process – and according to Intel, the new process appears to be good. Intel has also claimed that its first 32nm processors, codenamed ‘Westmere’ are expected to debut in late 2009 – essentially be a die-shrink version of their new Nehalem architecture, due out late this quarter.
Intel is also not the only chip maker detailing its progress, however. AMD is claiming the smallest functional SRAM cell ever made at 22nm, high-k and metal gate with a density of 0.10micron^2.
From the sounds of things, we can expect to start seeing 32nm chips from Intel around the third or fourth quarter of 2009 and 22nm chips from AMD. Generally the smaller they get, the lower the voltage – thus lowering the heat. This are going to be pretty cool next year, no pun intended.

Conclusion: These advantages are my idea for living in a dormitory.
Essay
After we study in the university, living is an important problem for us. There are two choices for us. One is renting an apartment; the other is living in a dormitory. There are some advantages I think for living in a dormitory.
First, living in a dormitory is cheaper than renting an apartment. Living in a dormitory casts about 7000 dollars each school term. If we rent an apartment, we should pay about 6000 dollars each month. In other words, we should pay 30000 dollars each term, if we rent an apartment.
Then, living in a dormitory is convenient. For the college students, love, club, and schoolwork are they will learn in their university life. If we live in the dormitory, we can play clubs more easily. For example, I join a Guitar Club, and I will practice guitar too late in club sometimes. If I live in dormitory, I can go back to my room easily. If I rent an apartment, I need to take a bus or ride motorcycle to go home. It is very troublesome.
The most important, I can make more friends, if I live in dormitory. Because we life most all day together, we can become friends easily and our friendship will become more hard. We can talk about homework together. We can play together.
These are my think for advantages of living in a dormitory. There are many advantages that we live in the dormitory.

Tampa Bay Rays — No. 19 Scott Kazmir
Scott Kazmir is a left-handed starting pitcher for the Tampa Bay Ryas. He was highly recruited after striking out 172 batters in 75 innings as a senior at Cypress Falls High School, he was friends with Thomas Keadle, and had verbally committed to the University of Texas, but was drafted in the first round of the 2002 MLB Draft by the New York Mets. Along with teammate Clint Everts he became half of the first pair of high school pitchers from the same team drafted in the first round. His most popular nickname is perhaps "Sco-Kaz,"with his lesser known ones being "Kid K", "K-Train", "Kazmanian Devil" and "Scotty K." The K being emphasized in his nicknames as a double meaning between the initial in his last name and his high strikeout rate.
In this sesson, Kazmir had 12 wins and 8 losses. His ERA is 3.49, and he strike out 166 betters in 152.1 inngs. For Tampa Bay Rays, Scott Kazmir is a very important pitcher not only he is a very good pitcher, but also he is very young. I guess he will get the Cy Young Award winner(the best pitcher in the MLB)in the future.
Boring
I am very borig now, so I am writng my English blog. I have no idea for this story, so I will talk about somethig about me. I like baseball very much, and my favourite baseball player is Daisuke Matsuzaka. He have ever say " Playing baseball in the MLB is not a dream for me , it is target for me. Because dream can"t achieve, target can achieve. " I very like this saying. SO my target is study hard.
Philadelphia Phillies win baseball’s World Series
Brad Lidge and the Philadelphia Phillies finished off the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 in a three-inning sprint on Wednesday to win a suspended fifth game nearly 50 hours after it started and secure the World Series.Left in limbo by a two-day rainstorm, the Phillies finally secured their first championship since 1980 — finishing off the best-of-seven series 4-1.Pedro Feliz singled home the go-ahead run in the seventh and Lidge closed out his perfect season to deliver the title.“It was a crazy way to win it with a suspended game but we did and it’s over and we’re very excited,” 45-year-old Phillies pitcher Jamie Moyer said. “It has been a long wait, but it’s worth it.”Bundled in rain jackets and blankets, fans returned in force to Citizens Bank Park and saw the city claim its first major sports championship in 25 years. No more references needed to those sad-sack Phillies teams in the past and their 10,000-plus losses.“They could taste it just as much as we could,” said pitcher Cole Hamels, voted Most Valuable Player of the series. It was among the most unusual endings in baseball history, a best-of-seven series coming down to a best-of-thee showdown when play resumed in the bottom of the sixth inning with the score tied 2-2.Hamels was a star in Game 5 — but never stepped on the mound on Wednesday night; Two Rays relievers warmed up to start, and there was a pinch-hitter before a single pitch. God Bless America was sung rather than the national anthem and it was quickly followed by the seventh-inning stretch. The game had been suspended on Monday night after rain made the field into a quagmire, washing out the foul lines, creating a puddle at home plate and turning every ball into an adventure.Commissioner Bud Selig eventually called it — he got booed when he presented the trophy to Hamels. For Philadelphia, it was more than a World Series win. It was a bit of redemption for all the losses, the jokes, the slights.“It’s over,” shortstop Jimmy Rollins said. “It’s over, man.”
Philadelphia Phillies is a team with more than 10000 lose. But they win the World Series this year. Tampa Bay Rays is a team with many young player. They defeat many team this year like Boston Red Sox. So there are many possible thing will happen in baseball game. Next year,Tampa Bay Rays maybe win baseball's World Series.

The Red Sox's Ace Daisuke Matsuzaka
Daisuke Matsuzaka is one of the best pitcher in MLB. He is a Japaness, and he play baseball in Red Sox now. In this season, he has 18 wins and only have 3 lose. His ERA is 2.90,to a pitcher, ERA can tell us this pitcher is good or not. When Matsuzaka play ball in NPB, he is a very famous pither, he have ever strike out Ichiro 4 times in a game. In his first season in NPB, he had 16wins , 5 losses and his ERA is 2.60. He got the best new player in this year. In 2005, he only had 15wins and 15 losses, but he had 214 strike outs and threw 240inngs. He get the best pitcher in that year. In 2006 at the World Classic Baseball game , he have 3 wins and no losses. So he get the MVP at that game. Daiauke Matsuzaka is the best pitcher in my mind, I know he will be the best pither in the MLB.

I am Batista. I am very strong, am every call me Animal. My finish skill is Batista Bomb. But there are some people doesn’t believe me I can defeat them. For example, I had ever fought with over one hundred gangsters in a critical circumstance . I use my pinch and kicks to stop their rude behaviors to me. I was so strong a man that they were suddenly down under my attack. Another unforgettable experience is that I run one thousand kilogram in one hour. Because my classmates didn’t believe me that I can run one thousand kilogram in one hour, I begged to them with one thousand dollars. But when I start to running ,my girlfriend call me to have dinner, this is a good time to kiss her ,and show how I love her. I don’t
Let`s jump to the conculution . My roommate Batista is a nerdy.
You can call he Otaku, and he will never feel not good. He is happy to get the call Otaku. Yoyoyo My name is mark, I`m gald to meet you, gegege.
Now i`m feel hungry, I want to go to Bai Lee right now, see you later. Chu mi ^_<*.
